Squamish wildfire: Photo gallery, story list and a call for community 'daffodils'

As a wildfire continues to impact the Squamish area, The Squamish Chief has compiled a photo gallery showcasing images submitted by residents. The publication is also inviting readers to send messages of appreciation—called 'daffodils'—to local first responders.

The Squamish Chief has pulled together some of the many photos we have received of the wildfire to create this gallery.

If you have photos to share, send them to [email protected].

Also, here is a video of the Dryden Creek wildfire before it was under control, posted by the District of Squamish on June 13.

We are also still compiling a collection of short written tributes—what we call "daffodils"—for local first responders working on the fire for our upcoming print edition.

Daffodils are of 75 words or less.

For example, "Daffodils shaped like microphones for officials who were available for media interviews during the wildfire, helping keep the community informed."

That kind of thing. Send daffodils to [email protected].

We have also made a list of all the stories we have written on the Dryden Creek fire so far.

We will continue to update this page whenever a new story goes up.
